Warming Centers

During the upcoming winter weather event, the following locations will be available for use as warming centers if needed. If your church or organization is also able to serve as a warming center, please share that information so we can help spread the word throughout the community.

The probability of an impactful snow/winter weather event continues to trend upward steadily. The risk for some icing along the Kentucky/Tennessee border is also trending upward. Emergency Notification System Update

Our emergency reverse‑notification system is currently transitioning to a new and improved platform. As part of this upgrade, text alerts will now be delivered as standard SMS messages rather than email‑to‑text, which will significantly improve delivery speed and reliability. In addition, automatic weather alerts will soon be enabled through the system, providing faster and more consistent notifications during severe weather events. Webster County Office Holiday Closures

Webster County offices will be closed December 24 – 26 in observance of Christmas. The compaction centers will be closed December 24-25, but Dixon center will be open Friday for regular schedule. In observance of New Years, the offices will be closed December 31st and January 1st.

Canaan Ridge Park’s Newest Addition

We’re excited to share some wonderful news from Canaan Ridge Park! Our playground has a brand-new feature designed especially for our youngest visitors! Crab Orchard Creek Bridge near Blackford Opened to Traffic

The KY 143 Crab Orchard Creek Bridge (4.4 mm) in Webster County opened to traffic late Friday afternoon following a lengthy closure. The bridge closed in November 2022 after failing a routine bridge inspection. Inspectors found considerable deterioration to the bridge’s substructure that was beyond what could be repaired, forcing the closure.
